Gene Pearson, Pastor of Care and Counseling

Pastor Gene was born and raised in Mears, Michigan,
where he lived very close to Grace Adventures
for a number of years. He also lived in Muskegon,
but the Grand Rapids area is where he feels most at home.
In 1976, Pastor Gene married Kathie, who was a member of this church at the time.
They have three married daughters and eight grandchildren.
They were missionaries in Brazil from 1985 to 1994.
Pastor Gene began working at the church in 1995.

Pastor Gene's interests are: Doing things with his wife and family,
especially his grandchildren.
In addition, he likes to use computers and learn about the latest trends in technology.



Phillip Long, Associate Pastor of Teaching

Pastor Phillip is married to Lori and has two children, Amy and Caroline.  He went to Grace Bible College where he graduated with a B.Th in pastoral studies; he has  Masters Degrees in Biblical Exposition and Old Testament from Talbot School of Theology (BIOLA) and a Ph.D in New Testament from Andrews University.  

Pastor Phillip served as interim pastor in Newaygo, Michigan and Riverside, California. In addition to his teaching at Rush Creek, he is presently Professor of Biblical Studies at Grace Bible College. He blogs regularly at Reading Acts.  Since 2005, he has led six tours to Israel - follow the link for pictures! 

Pastor Phillip's interests are: Music, books, and a great cup of coffee.



Terrah Befus, Youth Ministry Associate

Terrah was born and raised in Costa Rica, daughter of missionaries Chuck and Joy Befus.
From a very young age she had the privilege and opportunity to be involved in various ministries
and has been a leader in youth ministry for the past 7 years. Terrah graduated from Grace Bible College
in December 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Missions. She feels a distinct call to work alongside
young women and to be an encouragement and help to young people in general.
In the future Terrah hopes to become a full-time missionary to Latin America.

Terrah's interests are: Traveling, languages, reading, writing, and being active (sports).


Andrea Ott, Patti Wanrooy, Becky Ball
Worship Arts Team

Andrea Ott - Was a music performance / buisness major in college and continues to enjoy
musical and theater productions. Wayne, her husband and high school sweatheart, has been involved in
broadcasting since high school and college. Their whole family is heavily involved in Worship and Performing Arts.
They both attended college in Greenville, South Carolina and were married in 1974.
Andrea and Wayne have two grown daughters:
Kendra (a certified theater technician) also attends RCBC and volunteers in technical ministry,
and Kristle, who is part of the worship arts program at another church.
  Their family hobbies include marksmanship sports, bowling, model railroading, and spoiling grandchildren.
Wayne travels extensively for his work with RBC Ministries on the "Day of Discovery" TV program
and occasionally gets to take Andrea along to "help."

Patti Wanrooy - Was born and raised in Wyoming, Michigan. She attended Grace Bible College
after high school and then again recently to complete her Bachelor of Music Degree.
She is married to her best friend Craig and they have 4 children.
Any quality time with her husband and kids is what Patti enjoys most.
She also enjoys traveling and has taken many trips with her husband and with her family.
She loves singing and playing piano when no one is home, watching her kids play sports,
taking walks, and spending time with friends.

Becky Ball - Grew up in Forest Grove, Michigan. Married to Scott in 1999, and has two children,
Elizabeth and Isaiah. Becky has been working at RCBC since 2006, when she started as the choir accompanist.
She loves being outdoors, playing the piano, knitting, attending theatrical/musical productions,
reading, and doing things with family.


Dan & Karen Neymeiyer, Directors of Christian Education

Dan and Karen were raised in the Grand Rapids area and met in high school.
They were married in 1985 and have two daughters, Kayla and Christina.
Karen attended Grace Bible College and Grand Valley State, where she earned a Bachelor's degree
and elementary teaching certification with endorsements for special education. She taught in North Muskegon
for three years before leaving the classroom to be at home with her children.

Dan has been in business for many years, selling and servicing farm and lawn equipment
in the Sparta area as well as in Forest Grove, south of Hudsonville.
Dan and Karen have been the Directors of Children's Ministries since 2008, working as a team to fill this role at
Rush Creek. They enjoy traveling especially on mission trips with the youth, and spending time with family.
